Weigh-Tronix is a technology developer and manufacturer of weighing products and systems. A comparatively young company, we entered the marketplace in time to help guide the weighing industry from mechanical to electronic technology. The introduction of the Weigh Bar® weight sensor and the early use of the microprocessor as a key component of weighing instrumentation marked the young Weigh-Tronix as a leader in the development of technological solutions.
In the last twenty-five years we have accomplished consistent, strategic growth with the goal
of becoming the preeminent supplier of weighing technology for standalone and systems
applications.
Weigh-Tronix began as an idea, an invention that introduced electronic weighing to early
farm feed batching systems. The first Weigh Bars® proved successful, and soon we began
producing electronic weighing equipment for industrial applications. The company grew,
developing a strong reputation for agricultural weighing equipment, heavy industrial and
transportation scales.
In 1986 National Controls, Inc. of Santa Rosa, California became part of Weigh-Tronix.
The merger with NCI provided additional sophisticated load cell technology exhibited by
their checkweighers, counting scales, retail and postal scales. It also added the respected
Dillon force measurement equipment to the Weigh-Tronix product line.
In late 1993 Weigh-Tronix began to introduce weighing products that employed Quartzell®
transducers. The crystal based sensors generate a direct digital signal in contrast to
traditional load cells whose analog output must be converted to a digital signal. The
virtually unlimited resolution that is a product of Quartz Digital Technology is setting
new standards for counting scale performance. Watch for future Quartzell applications.
As Weigh-Tronix has recognized its membership in the world community, we have sought and
earned ISO 9001 certification. ISO has become a recognized standard of business operation
to a growing number of our domestic and international customers. It requires disciplined
attention to detail, careful documentation of processes, and continuous checks against
variation in product or procedure. These are business practices that the world marketplace
values and is coming to insist upon. These are business practices that we are happy to offer
to you, our customers.
